sophaskins FWIW, in practice, this is not the case. If I order “une pinte”, I’ll get somewhere between 500-600ml most of the time. I’d never get >1L when ordering “une pinte” at a bar in Montreal. That size is sometimes called “un bock”. "Une verre” (“a glass”) is a half pint here.
