    1. The real problem with pay-for-premium offers from creators (Cuiosity Stream, Patreon see-it-early, Club Twit, &c) is that the apps/tools for the real content (YouTube, Overcast, &c) are far more convenient than the creation-specific tools. I can’t (easily) watch Patreon on my TV.

    …and I say this as a person who spends far more on Patreon than I ever did on cable. I just almost always wait for videos to come out on YouTube and podcasts to make their way to Overcast. These channels are de-facto siloed.
