  1. Quebec’s new VaxiCode app launched today. It serves as a “secure” store for our "vaccine passport" QR codes. They claim that VaxiCode does not contact the Internet except to perform (requested manual/automatic) updates.

      I just confirmed that this is true—at least no initial traffic on first use (I loaded my QR code and stored it). No proxy traffic at all: no analytics gathering/sharing, no external dependency loading, no off-device data scumbaggery. 👍 On iOS for locals: apps.apple.com/ca/app/vaxicode/id1571692711

          Additionally, I just checked the Verifier app “VaxiCode Verif”* and it also does not send any traffic out on the proxy when verifying (correctly) my QR code. * the app bundle name is "vaxilecteurios", for all of you Harry Potter fans. (-;
