    1. There’s a certain *liberty of the naïve* when trying to write code in a language I’m not very good at (C++ tonight). The baggage of “I’m doing this wrong and should at least leave a note for myself to come back and fix it if not right now” is overridden by “PLEASE JUST COMPILE."

    (Also, it’s microcontroller firmware for some Christmas tree lights; if I end up doing it wrong, nobody’s going to steal everyone’s identities and money, so there’s that…)
